I have an Eshopps S-200 skimmer. The collection cup has a drain that is plugged. On Youtube (trying to figure this thing out) I saw a video where the guy ran a tube from the drain back into the sump. This does not make sense to me. Why would you drain from the cup back into the sump?

Was it perhaps for the break in period when the skimmer goes nuts and overflows? Can you link the video? It does seem odd that you would have the tube go right back into the sump if break in wasn't the case. Defeats the purpose of skimming lol
