Just got a 100 gal tank.. will be trying to add at least a 30/40 gal sump once i get it going.I have an SWC160 Cone skimmer but feel like upgrading... I did come upon a Reef octopus xp3000 from a local which i was interested in because i was lookin at the xp2000. Do you think the xp3000 is overkill for a 100 gal?? I know people so bigger is better but dont want to spend that kind of money if its overkill? thanks guys any advice welcomed!!

If you have the room, go with an SRO 2000 Int. I have it on my 150g with 30g sump, and it works hard. I recently lost a plate coral due to skim damage, and brown jelly set it. It fouled the tank very quickly. The skimmer pulled all that out, and cleared the water very quickly. I was very impressed with it. I have mine coupled to a SRO waste collector and it fills it weekly, as I like to skim wet.

One other thing, if you buy used, you will not have a 3 year warranty on the pump. The warranty is only for the original purchaser.
