Skimmer for 29 gallon

I have a Red Sea prizm deluxe protein skimmer but not sure how it is, I've had it for a while but I only had two clowns and I recently added a fire fish and a chromis. So not sure if the bio load is too low or what.

What other skimmers would work with my 29 gallon fowlr? I want a hob cause I don't have a sump.

People recommended aquatic life 115, Aqua max (too expensive), and such.

Not to sure if I even need one. But I kinda want one. Will I be able to increase my bio load?

Had Aquatic life but stopped working after 3 months. I am now skimmerless for months on our standard 29g Reef and doing well, just water change and topoff.
Look into CPR back pack. I like Aquamaxx if I decided to get one but yes, pricey.

Do you have this skimmer how is it? Is it hob ? Sorry couldn't tell.

look in the forum for sale I am sure something cheep will come up that is where I got mine. Its on a 14g nano and it is pulling black junk now working great. it hangs in my sump in the back of my nano. it took a few days for the micro bubbles to dissipate though. its an in tank one not a HOB.

Are top off systems expensive? I hate that I have to keep loading up buckets to put into the tank

depends they run about 80 bucks or so I have a hydor it works awesome Hydor Smart Level Control ATO System. If your quick on the forum they are listed all the time for cheaper

I think I'm going to get the ato but I'm not sure which one is best for the money. Nothing crazy expensive just simple has everything and works

Looked into the ATO and JBJ and looks questionable, some peoples sensors dont turn off and ruin the floors..I can't have that happen.

short of the pump and bucket yes..... I have been using a small pump I got for like 10 bucks

There is two floats one for on and one for off of a couple of configs. Is there a chance always with any system but unlikely if set up correctly

I think the JBJ like the hydor will only run for a few min before it quits. Mine is also set up from 1/2 in down to the small tube for the ro units to slw the flow
