Skimmer for $300?

MD has the Aquamaxx Q-2 for $299 right now and seems like a great deal.

Are there any other considerations in the $300 price range? It's going on my 40B frag tank but eventually I want a 120g so I want to size for the future tank

BRS has the Vertex Omega 130 marked down from $319 to $199 right now. I used to have the same one...worked great.

Look at the Coralvue website, they have Reef Octopus skimmer liquidations that are super inxpensive.

I have the omega 130 on a 100 gallon system, works great. Took a while to break in but after properly broken in it skims like a beast.

Well decided to go with the Aquamaxx as it's a great price and should be a huge upgrade from the crap SCA skimmers who I am absolutely done with now -- after 3 pumps in 2 years I'm glad to throw it in the trash. Nothing wrong with the body, but the heart kept giving out every 9 months even though I cleaned it every few months.

I have the 130 and the aquamaxx...I personally like the aquamaxx better. 130 will go on future frag tank. Was nice, but could never get it dialed in. Probably user error
