Skimmer for 40 breeder...

Thinking Reef Octopus BH2000 HOB... This tank wont be drilled. Is this overkill?

I think that might be the one we run.. I dont remember exactly I think it was rated to 75? But ive heard people say you dont need a skimmer for smaller tanks.. But I cant imagine not having one on any sized tank!!.. Octopus is an excellent brand, im sure theres better but there up there in the rankings!

I was running a BH1000 on my 55, with a very light bioload. This 40 will be a heavy bioload, and I would much rather go overkill, than par.

I run the BH-1000 on my 26g! No such thing as over skimming in my book Just allows me to feed more, which has so many benefits!

Yea, I'm gonna go with the BH-2000. It's only $40 more than the BH-1000, and I'm very confident this thing will be a beast. I think I may start a build thread for this tank...
