skimmer for a tight space

i would like to have protein skimmer but space in my sump is limited to say the least. the spot i have is only 5" wide and about a foot long with a water depth of 6 3/4". id love a reef octopus 110ss but its an inch to wide. the skimmers ive found that would fit have been rated for up to 35 gallons ive got a 40 breeder plus probably around 10 gallons in the sump will these skimmers work or would i be throwing money away. any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated if you guys think a nano skimmer would work im looking at the icecap K1 or the eshoppe nano protein skimmer.

Is there a way you could upgrade your sump or reconfigure the layout? Nano skimmers really don’t compare to a skimmer like your reef octopus.

Take a look at the CadLights PLS-50 Elite. I have one and love the dark tea it makes me.

I just spent 30 mins staring trying figure out if there was any way to move my return to give me enough room and theres nothing feasible. If i moved the pump it would still give me about 5 inches. But i figured a nano was gonna be useless. Dqwest im gonna look that thing up i appreciate it fellas
