I’m looking for recommendations for a skimmer to fit in the 2nd chamber of a Nuvo 40. I have a small fuge in chamber 1, and the IM media basket in chamber 5 now and don’t want to give up either of those. Chambers 2 & 4 are currently empty.

I use a Tunze Comline Doc 9001 in one of the overflow compartments in my IM 40. An ATO is highly recommend if you use a Tunze. Quiet skimmer with no microbubbles. Ime Tunze puts out a good product.

Thanks! I was looking at their 9004 dc, but it wouldn’t fit in the second chamber. Has this skimmer helped you much with NO3 reduction? That’s my main goal for adding one

An IM skimmer will fit in your second chamber. ( or 4th). I like mine it’s in the 2nd chamber of my IM 30 L.

Actually I never test nitrates, there is little algae in my tank and my corals are colorful and growing, sps, zoanthids, some LPS and a clam and 4 fish. I also feed heavily, 3-4 times a day.
I have used the IM Ghost desk top, imo Tunze is a better product.

I used the Nuvo Midsize Skimmer for a year and worked great. Pulled off the other day as my tank doesn't really need it since I moved away from sps and focus mostly on nems and lps
