Greeting reefers!

I drilled a hole in my house and ran a fresh air line to my skimmer which gave the same impact to my pH as having a kalk reactor without the maintenance. I live in the hippie part of the city so none of my neighbors do any lawn treatment etc but figured I should still have some carbon for like wildfire smoke, car exhaust, etc and piece of mind.

I built this guy out of 2” pvc and filled with carbon and a little wad of poly fill on each end. Just used some thread tape to make it air tight. Is there any way to decide a good schedule to change it on? I‘m thinking even if I do it quarterly it will be a very minor cost.

car exhaust,
I find out during the "thing" that carbon filters in my mask made me feel better. The end of the rabbit hole was me moving out of the city.

Carbon definitely a good a idea just make sure you change it regularly.

Some thoughts:
If the CO2 is impacting your tank think about how it is impacting you. You can look at my build thread for what I found. If you do get down that rabbit hole just remember that an ERV is your friend.

My 2 cents.

For sure! 100% I know that is a concern and I have looked into ERVs just haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Been too busy with the 100 year old house stuff needing more urgent attention. Thanks!

Do u use regular carbon for aquarium, or some other type?
