Alright so I’ve had my new tank up and running for a few weeks. My skimmer still hasn’t calmed down. It just keeps overflowing. Anyone know what’s up? Is this normal?

Is your tank still cycling? If so, this is normal for the skimmer to go nuts...mine flares up everytime I do a water change as well.

The month or so its still breaking in... Do you have it resting in the proper water height? It took probably a good 4-6 weeks for mine to break in and get it dialed in to producing a proper skimmate and anytime I do maintenance it takes time to adjust.

I bought the tank second hand and I have the water height the same as what it was before I moved it. I also am running the same skimmer on my 180 gallon tank as i am on my 60 gallon tank and the skimmer on my 60 is the one I’m having trouble with. Does that make a difference?
