Good morning everyone! I added a couple of pieces of rock into my tank last night and my skimmer is going crazy and overflowing. I’m assuming it’s because of the rock as it was running just fine prior to adding the rock. It’s the “Life Rock” which is dry, so I rinsed it real good before putting it in. Should I let the skimmer run and just run it’s course or turn it off for a day or two until everything settles down?

When mine does that (usually if I've used a lot of reef epoxy), I just clean the cup out and let the drain back into the sump until it settles. I have a CO2 scrubber set up with the skimmer so I want to keep the air being mixed into the water.

Did your water level increase in your sump from adding the rocks?
It did while I was putting in the rock, however I took some out of the tank so it went back down to the normal level. It’s exactly where it usually is on a daily basis.

I did empty the cup and now it’s just overflowing bubbles and clear water. Just let it ride?

I'm having a similar situation, but I've used a LOT of reef epoxy lately! You can try raising the skimmer in the sump...I have a little acrylic "shelf" for mine when I need to raise it. Yesterday, I also added some carbon in a mesh bag in the sump. I put the mesh bag with the carbon in the filter sock. I'm also going to do a water change. It will settle down eventually! Meanwhile, I'm running it wet with the drain unplugged, where it's basically draining back into the sump.
