skimmer has gone crazy

My protein skimmer has decided to start over filling the collection cup with water, this skimmer is about 3 weeks old. I have a bubble magus z-7 , this thing has been running solid for the last two weeks. Today i changed out my filter sock and cleaned the collection cup, out of no where the collection cup was over flowing. The skimmer is also blowing out a ton of micro bubbles, please help not sure what went wrong.

New filter sock will do that to most skimmers. It's annoying but very common. It should settle down after a couple of hours. My skimmer does that even after old washed socks.

Haha. I hear you. Filter socks or if you ever use epoxy/putty for bonding rocks will do the same.

Agree with all the above. My skimmer does the same.
