I'm needing a good skimmer that can sit in 11.75 in of water. Have a Coralife Super Skimmer 125 now and I don't like it. Can get dry skim and overflows randomly. Any suggestions?

What size tank do you have? Also you can make a stand for whatever skimmer you end up buying. For example the reef octopus sro-1000 int optimal running depth is 5.5". If your sumps water level is at 11.5" you can make a simple stand or shelf that is 6" high. You can make the stand out of eggcrate or acrylic.

Thanks for the response. Tank is a 125. I have some extra egg crate so will try that. Any suggestions on a good skimmer that won't break the bank?

My personal preference is the reef octopus skimmers. For that size tank depending on bio-load look into either the nwb-150 or nwb-200. If you want to go a little better look at the Super Reef Octopus (SRO) line. I would also look into the SWC skimmers and the bubble magus skimmers specifically their new "curve" line. In my opinion these skimmers will give you the "best bang for your buck."

Bubble Magnus na6 is the best skimmer for the money I have ever found. If u get it pm me and I'll help u with a few mods that will make it even better.
