skimmer help

i have a reef octopus classic 110int 4" and i can never seem to get it dialed in right i just cant find the sweet spot for it. right now its in 8 1/4 inches of water always getting small bubbles "not tiny"
then randomly when im not watching i get super wet skimmate.
its a new tank only 3 months only and i only have 7 damsel fish in it right now.
i had it plumbed to under my house for air and now its just sucking air from its location in the sump and both results are the same.
i do have it resting on a little plat form so i can lower it if that is better

How long have you had the skimmer? Any pictures? I have this exact same unit so I hope I'm able to help

had it at the start of the system running so for 2 3 monthts. no pictures sorry.
i am getting micro bubbling in the neck and the smaller bubbles in the cup section. but i can never get it to " pop" at the top. "how i see other skimmers on youtube." how many inches is yours in? i did have it at 9 inches and was working better but then randomly completely stopped making bubbles"2x" about 1 1/2 months in. its was just pure water and a humming going on

Mine sits 8 in underwater it could potentially be that at only 3 months in your water just simply isn't dirty enough especially if you have a low fish count and low Coral count. generally what you want to do is have the bubbles foaming up into about halfway of the neck. and as it collects the dead organics itll bubble over. I would just get it dialed in to about halfway up the neck and just let it run.

i see. in between the big black ring and the bottom on the black ring cup. easy enough.
i had it in the middle of the collection cup "youtube videos"
i do have a light load. this is on a 30 gallon long i will be doing anemones for stores. but the darn store sold them all. at least this will just help with cycling while waiting.
