Skimmer isn’t skimming

Hey everyone,

My skimmer on my 90 gallon is not skimming much these days... I recently had to remove all my fish and qt them due to ich. I’m wondering if maybe my skimmer is just not performing well anymore or if it has something to do with not having fish in there producing waste? I took the skimmer out last weekend and cleaned it thoroughly.

Might just be that there is not as much organic crud in the water column for it to pick up right now. All mine seem to runn dry and then all of a sudden they start producing simple for a few days. Try an experiment. Let your glass get dirty and then clean it. See if the skimmer reacts.
