Skimmer issue.Could use some advice!

I have a reef octopus skimmer I bought off of a friend of mine about six months ago.The air tube with the air valve fell off about two weeks ago and i put it back on.I usually get about 1/2 of the skimmer cup a week of some pretty nasty skimmate.I clean the skimmer cup and neck of the skimmer and put the cup back on.In the last two weeks i got barely any skimmate and im seeing some algea growth in the display.I have never cleaned the body of the skimmer or takin it out of the sump.Any idea's or input would be appreciated. You talking about the thing that attaches to the veturi, that intakes the air? Did you break it? It could also be clogged. Try checking to see if you can blow through the hose. Also, make sure its connected firmly in the housing.

No air, no skimmate...
