Skimmer Issue

My skimmer keeps filling with water. This is a new tank and new skimmer but I am running it because I have old live rock and fish in the tank already.

Can you adjust the height of the skimmer?

Since it's new, it will take awhile to tune. Mine took me months ti figure but part of that was never having had one.

Maybe a silly question, but it's adjusted all the way open? If so, I'd take the cup off and let it break in for a bit to see if that calms it down.
