Skimmer issue

Hey guys. I’m having a strang issue when my skimmer isn’t pulling much gunk out of the water. It’s still bubbling quite heavily. I thought my nitrates where too high so I raised the bubble level in the skimmer but the cup does not seem to be filling what so ever. Any idea what’s going on. For reference it’s a reef octopus skimmer and the pump is about 8 months old

Do you have any pictures of your setup? What model of RS skimmer is it? Are you seeing the skimmate overflowing into the cup?

Not seeing much over flow into the cup at all. Not sure on which model unfortunately. Old picture for reference

It looks like a DC pump correct? Are you able to adjust the pump speed?

The k my way I believe I’m able to adjust it is with the red wheel

Okay, Couple other questions... What is your water level at? I normally keep mine about and inch from the top. If I make any adjustments I level the skimmer for a 24hrs to see if my results have changed. I know it's been a while but have you gotten skimmate before? Silly question but have you checked to make sure you cup isn't leaking?

What is your nitrates at currently?

I appreciate all the help. Nitrates are currently at 25. It has skimmed for me very well before. The water level never changes because of the location it’s in. I’m gonna check the cup for leaks
