So this question has been asked many times that I have found on google. I am very unfamiliar to skimmers and dont know exactly the brand name(i believe it is eshopp) for starters. I had to shut my light and skimmer off for a few days to remove a massive alage over growth that popped up(most likely from to strong of a light for my shallow tank). When I turned my skimmer back on it wont stop over flowing with bubbles and filling the collector with water. Ive tried adjusting the settings on the side tube with no luck. The skimmer is in about 6ish inches of water.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Make sure air tube/venturi is clear and connected. Maybe try lowering water level abit. One other idea. Clean it with a 50/50 solution of White Vinegar and water. Put skimmer and solution in a 5g Bucket.

Ive tried adjusting the water level and made sure the air tube is clean. Ill try the cleaner, but it was just cleaned before i got it and its only been setup in my tank for around 2 months.

Unless you didn't clean it well enough(unlikely) Re-cleaning it with 50/50 Vinegar and water may not help. couldn't hurt. Idea: Check the manufacture recommend water level. By googling the manual for it or contact manufacture. Don't forget the venturi hole that the hose is connected to at the pump. My skimmer runs best at 7.5-8" of water in sump.

Well i let it sit for the rest of the day. Put a new carbon bag in my sock filter. Got home from work tonight and its not overflowing or anything. Light bubbles and its doing what its suppose to be doing.

Maybe the carbon helped. Who knows.
