skimmer issues

My skimmer starting overflowing the two liter "catch" bottle this week.
It does not seem to be bubbling as much just pushing straight water.

any ideas.
I am going to clean out my skimmer as it has some funky stuff growing on the sides.

i would give it all a clean vinergar bath and then see where your at...

Also if you have a recirc pump to make the bubbles and it has gotten a little loose it may be pulling water from the outside and causing it to flood. I've had that happen.

its back to working fine.
wow some really nasty stuff came out of there though.

Was the stuff growing on the sides white and clay looking? I have the same prob with mine but I didnt know if the "clay stuff" was hurting anything. lol But mines leeking on the little ring on the outtake pipe.

I agree with the cleaning, after I did mine it looks like a beer factory in the cup

Skimmers definatley work more efficiently when clean. I tend to clean mine every other day and if i am lazy once a week for sure and if i do wait a week there is some nastyyy build up in there mmmmmmm.
