Skimmer just stopped working

Possible that the motor simply died. How old is the unit? Have you checked it to make sure there isn't anything jammed in the impeller?

It’s an Aquamaxx ConeS co-1 and abouttao years old. I just took it apart and cleaned it well. Turned on when I was cleaning and then put back together and it stopped again. Put it in sump and plugged in. Nothing happened but now just kicked on...

I have this problem with my Torque SC-120 skimmer (I am Aussie based, and this is our local branding, I think it may be a Jebao unit). The impeller is the issue, it seems very sensitive to grit and the tiniest bit can shut it down. Whenever I clean it I check operation before I finish putting it together in case it won’t start. When it doesn’t I just need to pull the pump back out, remove and wash the impeller and reassemble and it is good to go.
