Skimmer leaning

Hey y’all,
Ordered a 110int reef octo skimmer for my sump. Well turns out the base fits but the cup doesn’t. It’ll make a seal but sits at a slight angle. Is this going to affect anything? BRS won’t refund it now that it’s touched water…

Honestly i’d put a small container or something beneath the skimmer just to balance out the cup. Although i don’t think it would do anything i’d just elevate it to be on the safe side, And to stop un needed overflow.

Are you saying that you don't have enough clearance above the skimmer for the cup to sit flat? if it seals it should work. Can you include a picture?

Hey sorry I’ll attach a pic when I’m home. Basically there’s a “shelf” at the rim that’s pushing against the cup causing just the cup to sit angled.
