So we had our skimmer off for a few weeks fighting off a Dino outbreak and now it’s been on for 4 days barely producing bubbles at all. It is still producing a very nasty stinky skim but in the neck it’s mostly just swishing water instead of bubbles and the bubbles on top look more like boiling water? I’ve took the pump off and cleaned it along with the air line going from Venturi to silencer it didn’t help at all. The skimmer was new when it was working perfectly now that it should be broke in it doesn’t seem to run right. Like I said it is producing skim it’s just not frothy bubbles and no bubbles at all in the neck just a very thin line at top is bubbles when it use to be entire neck and collection cup is it because it’s broke in and I just don’t have enough bio? It is pretty oversized but it was off for weeks and when I first turned it on it still didn’t work like it did so what gives? It’s a reef Octopus 200 int. Any suggestions?

It is really hard to say. The skimmer should produce bubbles. Now how many bubbles is normal is hard to articulate. If you have an airflow meter we could get a numerical value of the pumps performance. If you don’t have a meter a video would help a lot.
