Skimmer or fleece filter roller

I currently run a fleece filter roller and a skimmer. I also have a refugium.
My problem is I don’t seem to be able to run both the skimmer and roller filter, as when I do my skimmer doesn’t skim.
If I take my fleece off line I can produce nice skimate.
So which one should go?

So...nice to have skimmer as backup. Might not be producing skimmate normally but will still oxygenate the water and if you have some condition requiring extra export, it's there already.

This assumes you're happy with your parameters and your tank is healthy and successful.

Lli would leave the skimmer running for aeration. Keep it dialed back so you don’t have an overflow when feeding.
