So the last two times I’ve been on vacation, I have had my skimmer (Aquamaxx ConeS Q-1) attached to an old milk jug to collect skimmate. Seemingly randomly, however, the skimmer has overflowed and flooded the jug, leading to my caretakers cleaning up the mess.
This last trip, they sent me a picture of the jug and it only had an inch and a half of dark brown skimmate in it, but a day and a half later, it had completely flooded. Between those two trips, I monitored it and it didn’t do it for three weeks, so it feels as though it’s something the people taking care of the place are doing.
Any ideas as to what would cause it to do this? It happened towards the end of the week both times I was away.
I’m going to move a small container into the sump so that it will still collect, but I’d it overflows, it will return to the tank.
