Skimmer Overflowing

What's up, reefers!! So recently I bought a vectra 150 skimmer and all has been operating well but yesterday it started overflowing. So I opened the valve all the way up not restricting the flow of water to the skimmer and either way I put the skimmer is uncontrollable!! What do I do??

Was it brand new?
How long have you had it running?

I would run it shallow and mostly “closed” for a couple of weeks. Let it dry skim as much as possible. If you get no collected skim, that is fine too. Just let it break in

Yes. I did add a brand new filter sock last night. My wife has been using this snow stuff by two little fish. Is this the issue??

Either one of those things could be the issue........ but I'd guess the snow stuff is doing it.... Mine would go crazy with vibrant when I used that before.
