Skimmer placement

So I have a HOB skimmer and it’s on my sump. My problem is the skimmer is on the back of my sump which causes my doors to not close all the way which is driving me nuts. Could I place my HOB skimmer on my return section of my sump?

Yes you can put it anywhere that you can fit it on your sump..
