Skimmer problem

hello I'm just looking for some help with my skimmer. The foam has never reached the cup. Please see the picture.

Can you lower the skimmer body more in the water? Raise the water level or increase the amount of air going into it?

The skimme is sitting on the bottom of the sump and the air line is out of the water and open fully. Also I have the water level about an inch from the top of the sump which is just enough space for the water in the tank if the power goes out. Any other possible problems?

you need to turn the gray pipe. that white dot either needs to turn towards the body or away depending on which way is wide open or closed (restricted)

when you change the white dot location the water level inside the skimmer will change

Yes I would have it (where the small bubbles start joining and get large) have that point right above where the neck starts curving. The bubbles should then be breaking half way up the cup neck and foam will develop well.

If you just installed the skimmer you will need to keep an eye on the level that the bubbles are breaking. The skimmer will go through a break in and when that happens it will skim better and you may need to make minor adjustments. Also each time you adjust make sure its small adjustments and give it time to catch up to the adjustment. Once its settled you will not need to touch it except to clean.
