Skimmer problem

i got home from work this morning and my skimmer was overflowing. The sump was full of bubbles. And the cup was pouring water.

Should I expect any effects from all my skimmate going back in the tank? Skimmer is running and skimming again. Should I expect any problems?

No, just turn the skimmer down and it will collect all the skimmate again shortly. The trick with skimmers is to maintain a constant level in the neck. If you have a surge in waste in the tank it will overflow, so finding a nice balance can be tough, but under-sizing and running it at full tilt can be effective.

I wouldn't sweat it man, with your tank volume I'd just turn it down and let the tank be.

Not at all. You can check parameters to ease your mind but this happens time to time.
