Skimmer problems

I cleaned my skimmer this week same as always warm water good wipe down. Now I am getting a lot of bubbles not skim. I also put a new carbon filter in sump. My skimmer pump is turned all the way down and I am getting a lot of wet bubbles where before I cleaned it I had dry skim. The only thing different was the new carbon pad place after the skimmer. Also the water in my tank is now cloudy.

Have you tried removing the carbon filter to see if it makes a difference; just so you can remove it from the equation? Did you feed heavily or feed any new foods, use any of that mounting puddy or anything like that? Is your water level the same in your skimmer chamber?

Nothing new to tank. Water levels are all the same. I will try removing the carbon filter. I wonder if adding the carbon filter slowed the water flow in sump down causing the problem!

I found the reason my tank was cloudy, my scooter blenny was stirring the sand up. As for the skimmer it's back to normal. Not sure what caused it other than cleaning. Carbon pad did not seem to cause the problem removed it no change after several hours so reinstalled and the next day everything was back to normal
