Skimmer Producing Bubbles after cleaning collection cup

Hi just got a RO 90 HOB skimmer, finished breaking in a couple weeks ago. The last two times I cleaned the collection cup and neck, the skimmer continually produces bubbles overflowing into the cup. I have to leave the drain hose on for a couple days before the bubbles subside and things get back to normal. Why is this? I'm not really sure why it does this.

Most likely the smooth surface from cleaning allows the water/bubbles to rise easier. Less resistance.
