I am having some Skimmer production issue.
Let me give some background.
I was running Biopellets and in sump ATS at same time. Yes too much competition between the two so neither was running to full potential. I decided to pull the ATS out of the sump as it was taking at least 6 weeks to get any harvestable Algae out of it and It takes up a lot of space. With the added space I was able to move my Powerfilter to the sump with cleaned up all the extra detritus in the sump.
Sense doing this my skimmer has had no skim mate production in the last 2 weeks. It just looks like a pot of boiling water. No foam just bubbles. The Skimmer is Oversized for the tank but I have a very large bio load for the tank. 60"x24"x24" 150 gallon tank 44 gallon sump. I feed 8 cubes of frozen a day and auto feed every 1.1/2 hrs freeze dried calarnis and Mysiss for the Anthias. I dose 200ml Live Photo every night. Up until the change I was getting real good stinky skim mate.

Po4 holding steady at .06 ppm +/- .01 Hanna 744
No3 holding steady at 7 ppm Hanna HR checker.

It is just hard for me to believe that there is nothing to skim out with the bio load and feeding I do.

Any ideas?

Assure it’s in the sump at proper water height and also that intake is not clogged with precipitation
Additionally…. Blow thru tube from muffler to pump to assure line is not clogged

This ^^

I find with my skimmer, if a snail crawls into the inlet(many baby snails in my sump), it will still bubble, but never even fill the reaction chamber.

Check the inlet, and make sure the venturi isn't blocked by precip.

Never said what brand of skimmer it was either. For some more personal help, from someone who might have the same model.

Proper depth checked good there.
Airflow seams good I can feel it sucking air into the the skimmer and pulled the line to make sure.
I can feel it sucking water through the intake but will pull the skimmer out and do a deep clean just to make sure.
Thank You

Aquamaxx DCQ3 way over rated for size but because of bio load. The skimmer has been a beast for the last 6 -7 months. always producing a great stinky skim. I will pull skimmer out when I get home from work and clean and check for snails Before the Avalanche game

Is that the one that has 2 air inlet on the venturi?

Is one missing the cap on the air inlet letting water in? That will also cause it to not bubble as much.

Yes it does but it is caped . That second port is for Ozone or Calcium reactor effluent . I have my CRx Effluent dumping down close to the intake along with the return of the Bio pellet reactor.

I will pull it out and clean just to make sure of no snails or other obstructions.

It just seams strange after the changes that the Skimmer just not producing skim at all ,all of a suden.
