I have a coralife in sump skimmer, model 125 and I think the pump is heating up the water by like a half a degree.
The normal temperature is at 77.8 and is on a reefkeeper controller. The temp usually only varies by .01 or .02 degrees. A couple weeks ago I noticed the temp at 78.5 so I investigated and found the skimmer pump was making some noise and I turned it off. The next morning the temp was back to 77.8. So I looked at the pump and it had water in it. I ordered a new pump and the skimmer has been running for about four days, when I got home last night from work, the temp was back up to 78.5 again, so I unplugged the skimmer again and this morning the temp is back down to 77.8 and holding.
Has anyone experienced this issue. There is no equipment in the display except for the power heads.
It does run 24/7 , so I thought about turning it off at night but don't know if that may cause top off and dosing issues.
Thanks
