Hi everyone!
Im just needing some guidance here or suggestion. This protein skimmer was given to me by a neighbor and doesn't have a label on it. The skimmer is approx 18" tall and is for my 72 gal bow front. The pump went out and I'm not sure what size pump to replace it with. Should i be looking for a gal per hour pump? Im still new at this... Thanks in advance. Here is the skimmer and old pump.

I just couldn't find any specs on it to replace it. Im not sure what the skimmer requires.

The Red Sea is very similar to the Aqua Medic Turboflotor-1000 so if you cannot find anything on the Red Sea you can use this as guidance:

The Rio 1700 or 2100 with a needle wheel or the OceanRunner 2700 are good choices for the 1000 so should work fine on the Red Sea too. Another choice I often see are the Sedra needle wheel pumps.

Thank you!
So is there a difference from a regular submersible pump & skimmer pump?

Oh yea there is. One uses a mesh impeller or a needle wheel inpeller and a regular pump just uses paddles.
