skimmer pump of choice?

My current skimmer has 2 sicce pumps on it that I run as recirc. I have one that the impellar cover is cut through by the impellar and I am sick of having to jump start the pumps evertime they loose power or the air tube gets kinked. what pump is everyones favorite? it is an older euroreef 8in skimmer.
