Skimmer pump

Hello fellow reefers my skimmer pump for my jns skimmer broke I have a replacement pump for it but it's bigger than the original will using a bigger skimmer pump cause the skimmer to skimm less efficiently

Usually, yes, it will throw it off ... skimmers are manufactured for a certain GPH flow through its mechanics for optimal skim, to the aquarium for which it's rated. Additionally, many skimmers use special impellers with modified surfaces that create very, very tiny bubbles (so not the same as normal power heads or return pumps) that create the surface area for skimmer bubbles that allow high functioning skimming.
