Good evening everyone. So I have a red sea reefer 350. I have a red sea skimmer as well. Rsc 300, or 3000. So my skimmer has been great so far. But recently it has been gurgling huge bubbles. It still works, it still has a billion tiny bubbles, but every few minutes it will gurgle and you can see massive air bubble making its way through the body. Any ideas why? Any advice would help.

I also just noticed if I tip my skimmer to the side a bit I get massive amounts of air come up around the skimmer as if there's air trapped under it. If I tip it the bubbles come up outside of the skimmer if I leave it be they come up through the skimmer.

Is it possible that your skimmer is not sitting completely level, allowing the micro-bubbles to form into an air pocket in some spot until it glubs up?

I would add to run thru and confirm everything is connected tightly and your water level is correct. New skimmer, or just new issue ?

I doubt it. I leveled my tank pretty good. It's sitting on the bottom of my sump directly. It's a new issue. It didn't happen for almost a year. When it started to happen I cleaned out my skimmer real well. It didn't happen after I cleaned it, but only lasted a couple days. Now happening again. It starts slow and gets worse.

If it happened just after you cleaned it, maybe just double check everything is connected. It may just need to settle down after cleaning. No crazy cleaning products used other than critic acid or other things safe like that?
