I have a new vertex omega 130. The airline tubes it came with are longer than needed. Can i trim them down a little so they are straighter? It seems to work fine just aesthetically doeant look right.

You could but if you need to tune the skimmer down the road you might come up short.

The extra slack is for fine tuning the skimmer, if need be :)

I thought the tuning was done with the standpipe and venutri nozzle on the pump. The sliencer isnt attached, just nests on the stand pipe in a groove.

I see what your saying. You can adjust the standpipe and then, remount the silencer with the air intake:)

I have a Bubble King 160 and it needs the extra slack :D

Just looked that one up. I see what you mean. The airline is in the standpipe? So the lenght of the tube doesn't seem so important on mine should i clip it?

You should be able to :) my reef octopus came with a coil of airline tubing that you cut to fit. Cut it to what looked good and been working so far :)

I think tomorrow im going to. I just didnt know if the length had any importance to some kind of intake ratio or other silly factor i wasnt aware of. I used to like the thick instruction manuals that came with products. Now a days most people don't want to be bothered with how or why something works. Just want to open, setup and go.
