What is going on with my skimmer?

How old is the unit? Check your airline that it isn't blocked. Looks like it may not be getting enough air to create bubbles and is pushing through only water.

Looks to be a pump issue possibly? Not overly familiar with that skimmer, but take the pump off and clean. Then check all the pipes. Was it running fine? They go through times of high and low water.

I cleaned it yesterday because I noticed this water flow pattern. However it still seems to be doing this. I did not see any damage to the pump blades or anything else obviously wrong.

The unit is 1.5 years old

ANd the air tube to the pump is clear of debris?

I have seen that with air intake blocked. Double check that and that the pump (if that is where air intake is) is not blocked.

I have had to actually take the part of the pump that sucks in air and use a zip tie or pipe cleaner to clean that little space in the pump. My current protein skimmers do not have this issue as pump is not the air source.

It has to be the pump. i have seen blocked airways before and it will just poor water in but that skimmer is shaking.

Thanks for your help. It was a clogged air intake that I missed when cleaning yesterday.
