Skimmer question

I have a trigger emerald 26 sump. The skimmer section is 8.25 x 9.5. The skimmer I am looking at has a footprint of 7.3 x 9.5. It states it will fit in the trigger but is there enough room for good function?

I foresee skimmer maintenance issues. Your 50/50. Skimmers never seem to fit even if they do. And if they fit like a puzzle peice then servicing them is usually a nightmare. One super important key is to make sure you can get the collection cup past the edge of the sump without tilting it and spilling skimate all over the place.
