about 1.5 weeks ago got a IM Ghost desktop skimmer for my 20g Nuvo QT tank. Have 2 small fish in Q for last 3 weeks. Within a day after I put in the skimmer I started getting a 'froth' of small - medium bubbles. The skimmer cup has been emptied twice but the skim mate looks "off white" and not dark. Should it be darker? **I have a IM Nuvo DC skimmer coming tomorrow b/c it has some nice improved features over the ghost.
Also for my 66g reef is near end of cycling and will add a HOB Aquamaxx 1.5 skimmer (also coming tomorrow). * I was going to use a Tunze 9004 DOC w/DC control in rear sump but the magnets are a little weak - 12mm glass - and have read on several forums that the Tunze gives you more of a "wet" skim mate whereas I want drier.
SO my question is : does the skimmer creating the bubbles pull out 'saltwater' with those bubbles? So far the SG in my 20g QT is 1.025 and has stayed there even after adding the ghost skimmer. *I noticed with the micro bubbles coming out of the output causes salt creep in the back.
