Skimmer Questions

I'm looking to buy a skimmer for a 40b I tried the SCA-301 And all it wants to pull is tan wet skims. I've adjusted the hell out of it lol.
I had a SCA-302 model and I loved it but it too big for this tank and I've seen sold it.
I got a 8x8 space to put one so it has to be compacted.
It doesn't have to be top end high priced just a good skimmer.
Looking forwards to everyone suggestions.

I have a 40b with a reef octopus 110INT and if I wanted I could get tar from skimmate lol it does a great job. Empty it can tip but filled in a flat surface this is no issue.

Tunze Comline DOC Protein Skimmer 9004 works really good and is very small. The only gripe I had was it was in my JBJ 45 return section. If the level wasn't exact I always had to adjust it. When I had it in a steady flow section the thing was just as good as a higher end. Pulled nasty green skim mate. Even could adjust it to get the same color your talking about. Extended maintenance was kind of a pain also. Hard to take apart without feeling like your going to mess up a tab. Not sure if you're using it for a sump or a display. So I hope it helps either way.
