Skimmer questions

So I just bought a magnus curve 5 off OfferUp and the thing is I haven’t a clue on what it’s doing. Well I do and I don’t, my question is, do I leave it on max water flow until it’s tuned and then turn to do dry skimming? How do I know when it’s tuned? When ever I lift the skimmer to see if it needs eggcrate on the bottom the micro bubbles get crazier, so do I just leave it how it is? Thanks!

Start on lowest setting in 7” of water and gradually turn knob until bubbles rise in chamber and leave it right there

Does it have to be 7”? It’s in about 9” right now and I’ve seen some people say 7-9 is good

And I just realized I forgot to mention that I added chemi clean a few days ago and did a water change yesterday. That’s probably why my skimmer is so crazy right now

7 is safe range. You don’t want max water height
