I'm planning to setup a 50-60 gallon frag tank. Wondering what your thoughts are on a good skimmer for this size tank. Also, bio load will be light. Probably on a couple of fish. Thanks.

Reef Octopus makes a great HOB skimmer if you don't have a sump. SWC 120 is great as well if you have room for it.

Thanks for the tip. I've got an SWC 200 on my 75g reef. It's a good skimmer. I will have a sump, so maybe the 120 or 200. Any other skimmer options? What is considered a high-end skimmer these days?

I use this works great bh-50 nano Skimmer. That pic is a week of skimming. It's rated up to 50g I think

Thanks! Sweet skimmer. Might be a little undersized for me though. I'd prefer to have one rated a bit higher than my tank capcity (50-60 + 20g sump).

Anyone try the Reef Octopus Diablo skimmer? Heard anything about it?

If you want a higher end skimmer, you can try the new Vertex Omega 150

Aquac remora My brother n law used it on his 30 and the tank was fantastic and clean. And service is awesome, something brakes they replace it free!!

I have a dual chamber Octopus HOB on my 55gal frag tank with a 30 gl sump and it works GREAT! Heck I still have an extra one laying around.
