I have a 90 gallon with an Eshopps R-200 refugium. I want to change my skimmer, currently have Bubble Magus Curve 7, but Im not really happy. I definitely want an internal that fits in the first compartment of the sump (10x13). Any suggestions, the current water level is about 11 inches. I was thinking about the Avast CS-1.

I have no experience with their new POV skimmers. I have used their NW series of skimmers and their SRO series. Both in my experience are very nice skimmers. High quality builds and excellent performance. I wouldn't expect anything less from this line of skimmers. They have good products all around

Why aren't you happy with your current skimmer? I went from a RO NWB 110 to the BM Nac 7 which is pretty much the same as the Curve 7 and I'm alot happier. Have you messed around with the water level at all? 11 inches seems pretty deep. I had mine in around 11 inches of water and was getting a tea colored skimmate, I lowered the sump depth to around 9.5 and now its pullin the funk.

It pulls out dark black skim not matter how I adjust, which is not a bad thing. I am having problems with the skimmer starting up after shutdown. I have to physically take the skimmer out of the water then put back in. Something must be wrong with the pump. I figure if I have to change the pump out I mine as well try something new. But overall I have not been impressed with the skimmer.

Now I am thinking of an Aquamaxx Ecomaxx 200 for a replacement.
