I just bought the marine x60.2 my first saltwater tank, and I wanna buy a skimmer for it.

On the water box website, they have the https://waterboxaquariums.com/collections/all/products/quantum-120?variant=41135647162558 quantum 120 recommended for it, its 400$ skimmer.

I know skimmers are expensive, but I wanna get my money worth, is there a cheaper option that would work the same, or is that the best one to get?

I don't like being cheap, but at the same time, expensive products, does not mean it's always the best.

So do you guys suggest anything better for the same price or less money that performs the same? or should I just buy the the quantum 120?

its a great skimmer however allow me to recommend cheaper options that are also great and I have personal experience with:
-Eshopps skimmers
-Maxspect jump series skimmers
-Bubble magus curve 5 skimmer.
Only issue is that I am not sure about the size compatibility and I am afraid that these will be overkill for that size of an aquarium.

Yeah that's what im not sure about.
No don't buy the quantum. It's overpriced. Aquamaxx is much cheaper and works just as well.
What size for my tank though im a newbie.

Go on BulkReefSupply and look at the line of Aquamaxx skimmers. Each tells you the recommended tank size. As a newbie, be prepared to do lots of research.
