I have same tank. 6 months into it. I setup a little fuge/chaeto in chamber 1 with floss on top. Still using stock filter sponge in chamber 2. I have a clown, YWG/pistol, firefish and a sizable cleanup crew. I feed heavy, at least I think I do. I bottomed out my nutrients and had to dial back fuge light and now do 10% water changes every 2-3 weeks (turkey bast rock and clean sponge).

You could prob add a refugium but again ur tank needs to be a bit older to support macro algae growth.

How about a diy algae reactor?

Wow, that’s amazing that you only have to do 10% every 2-3 weeks!!!

Keep you phosphate under .3 and you’ll be fine. .09 is totally fine any you don’t need to change anything

I know .09 is fine and I also know chasing numbers isn't good to do, but generally I like to aim for around .04

Why? There isn’t some magic growth difference between the two and in a 13 if you really want that do 2 5 gal water changes.

How long ago did u setup ur fuge?

I set the fuge up 3 -4 months ago. Tank was only up for about 3 months prior.

I’m using this light - running it 4-6 hours at night depending on my levels.

Did you upgrade the return pump to get more flow for the Fuge?

Still running stock pump. It’s very weak but I’m ok with it since I get most of my flow from a wavemaker.

I do give the chaeto a manual rotation every few days and when I pull a small piece to thin it out, I tend to stretch it out so it’s not a compact ball. No idea if there is any benefit from doing this.
