Skimmer size for a 220g

Is a 10 inch skimmer too much for a 220g. I was told a 10 inch skimmer would be ideal for a medium to heavy stocked tank. If it is I was going to purchased The AquaMaxx ConeS Q-5 In-Sump Protein Skimmer. Is this a good skimmer choice/ and size for my aquarium or should go with something different.
 
I have a 10" skimmer on my 250g and feel it's perfect. I would say yours is too but all depends of your fish load.
 
My 220 has an 8" and it works quite well. However, my fish load is pretty low and until some of the older fish pass away, it will be that way for a while. 10" is definitely not overkill. However, this might be:
