Skimmer Skimate Over Flow

Running a vertex 150. The cup is not even half filled but skimate overflow out from those holes on the lid.
Why is that happening?
Is there a way to avoid the overflow?

Not familiar with vertex but you might try lowering the water level in skimmer a little with the gate valve or if you have air intake adjustability try reducing your air flow slightly..

I have that skimmer and I also get that really stiff foam that doesn’t break down. And it comes out the top once it fills the cup. I consider it full at that point and clean it. I set the water level so that it doesn’t overflow in a week and clean it each week.

Just for reference how long did it take to make that much skimmate and overflow?
