Skimmer skimming too wet

I have a Tunze DOC 9430 skimmer and I can't figure out how to get the foamy skimmate I see in a lot of pictures. Right now it fills up pretty fast, usually a day, and it's a pretty watery.

You need to either raise it higher out of the water or adjust the air intake to drop the foam level in the neck. In my experience I allow the foam to go all the way up to the neck opening where the cup sits on it. It will take a bit to dial it in. If it's new it will take a bit to break in.

Some cut the outlet pipe down a hair to lower the water column.
