Skimmer softies tank

So I have a softies only tank with 2 clowns and 3 firefish. (60 cube) I wasn’t planning on a skimmer but starting to hear otherwise from a few. If I’m not feeding my corals and not heavily feed the fish, is a skimmer really needed? I have a fuge but wondering it I should scrap it and go with a skimmer instead for the long run. Just wanted to get a few opinions

I have a 120 gal softy tank that is kind of heavily stocked and I use skimmer. It might not be necessary but i have been so used to using one way back then so for me it is just an additional safety net for controlling nutrients.
